“This is Lieutenant Commander Frank Briggs, reporting back with the scouting information requested by Captain Haney! I have brought two Lieutenants that were not able to receive a pick up from Headquarters.” Kuga was rather impressed by his enforced impersonation, regardless of his initial failure, and lack of credibility. He whispered to Cyrus. "Not bad at all, Cyrus-san." It was quiet enough so that the marine aboard wouldn't suspect anything, only Cyrus and his other teammate Yaboku could hear the whisper. Kuga tucked his marine cap perfectly; it's bigger than his head size, as it was swaying to the side because of the night breeze.
Kuga suspected Polo had already made his move underneath, he can somewhat smell the stench of blood, but it was masked by the ocean breeze As a doctor, he is sensitive enough to the smell of blood. It seemed he already encountered an enemy; a skirmish, perhaps. Kuga can immediately tell there are nearly a dozen men on the deck, save a few who seems to be hidden away, like their superior officer. Whom he heard to be sleeping. He's counting on Cyrus to make their infiltration attempt a successful one. Looking at how things goes Kuga is a little more reassured of their success
"Get up here and let's see some IDs" This is what Kuga feared, to an extent. The need to show their identity card, to prove if they're marine or not, fortunately they have one set for each other, in the breast pocket of their uniform. Kuga took his out, looking carefully at the details inscribed in it. Some of the information is a bit wrong, but he believe he can pass with this. Following Cyrus who held out his ID to everybody aboard, he also did the same, his face remaining passive as in, pretending to not be faltering because some of the information is wrong, especially in regards of age.
Cyrus seemed to be taunting the officer, but Kuga remained silent as he was, watching his surroundings, his hand remained stiff holding the card to show the ID and the information that is there. He acted innocent and believable. At least, with his sense of confidence, he wouldn't be suspected at first glance, maybe, it depends if one of these marines know about the ID card, and that it might be forged, it could be bad for him and Yaboku, if Yaboku had a card of his own, if not, well, I guess it's goodbye.
"Now, how do we get out of this situation, Cyrus-san... I think you shouldn't be pushing it..." Kuga was thinking hard now, this is quite a dilemma. Although, he didn't voice his thought.
Kuga feared not the consequences of their action, but rather for the mission. He feared if this farce doesn't succeed it will go awry for Polo-san.
