[attr="class","yes"]Whirlwind? If he weren't engaged with two other pirates at the moment he would have questioned this little moniker. Surely he wasn't deserving of such a thing. He was simply Yoizuki. Or Ryoshi. It was an interesting feeling to be called something else. He couldn't be sure whether or not he even liked it until he could put some actual thought into it. For now he had a job to finish. The other two pirates in his vicinity drew their swords, each moving to attack him at a different angle in hopes of avoiding the fate of their comrade. Hands swiftly moved to intercept their blades, the rotation of the blades causing them to collide into the ground. His pinwheels them moved for their abdomens, the sharpened blades easily tearing through their flesh and eviscerating them. To think, five years ago the sight would have made him sick. But now it was no different than gutting fish.
Hands stopped rotating, grip on his blades tightening as he scanned the room for targets. Nine of them were still standing, and they seemed far more interested in Kari than himself. She was the one who issued the challenge, after all. And she already killed five of them, making her the bigger threat in the moment. But this could work in his advantage. He sprinted over to a cluster of four who were only a few yards from reaching Kari. As he drew near he extended his lanky arms, his entire torso starting to spin like a propeller. Tilting at his waist, he caused his arms to spin at a downward angle, aiming for the torsos of the pirates. He moved through the group, slashing them all numerous times along the way. The men were riddled with slashes, mostly across their chests and bellies. While not immediately lethal, any attempts at movement would only worsen their wounds. Even if they attempted to continue the fight they would be trivial to deal with.

[attr="class","yes"]Eyes drifted from the odd man of fish to the large new ship arriving at the port. Eyes inevitably made their way up the to the flag that blew in the wind over the crow's nest. His stomach twisted at the sight of the symbol, fists clenching at the sight of a jolly roger. A pirate. What was a pirate doing here? Was this why they came? Was this some big name pirate that they needed an army of bounty hunters to pursue? Oh dear this could be bad. He could only hope that Kari knew what they were up against. When he went to look to her for comfort, he found nothing but air where his captain once stood. In a panic he quickly scanned the busy dock, quickly spotting her unique hood in the crowd. Headed straight for that strange creature. Oh dear.
He moved as quickly as his lanky legs could carry him, racing to his captain's side. Tundra's words struck him as odd. Human. So he really wasn't human. The seven foot tall man leaned forward without a word, eyes wide and brows furrowed as he examined this odd creature. "You...You're a fish. But you speak. You speak very well. You were swimming. You smell fantastic. Like the very depths of the ocean floor...Seaweed, salt water." His head tilted as he spoke, completely puzzled by the existence of such a creature. He moved to touch him, stopping mid motion as he recalled his actions toward Kari. Normally he would be offended that someone would speak in such a way to his captain. But he was too entranced by this magnificent being to give it any thought. "C-can I touch you? I'm sorry I'm just...You're amazing! You're both man and fish? Fish and man? Are you at all human? Are you..." He lowered his voice, quickly glancing around the dock to make sure none of the onlookers would be within earshot. He lowered his voice, curious eyes locked back onto Tundra. "Are you the god of the sea?"

[attr="class","yes"]It seemed that stealth had officially gone out the window. He stared in shock as she jumped on top of one of the barrels, fully expecting someone to charge at her or shoot her square in the head. He swiftly moved and positioned himself in front of her, crouching so as not to hide her but taking a stance ready to strike anyone who made a move towards her. Fortunately a quick scan of the room revealed no one was pointing a gun at her just yet, something that came as a relief.
Their response to his captain's introduction hit a nerve with the bushy haired chef, eye twitching as the sound of their wretched laughs invaded his ears. How dare they? How dare they laugh in the face of the punishment for their wicked deeds? These were surly good for nothing criminals well deserving of the death he would so joyfully deliver. And it seemed Kari was on the same page, as she had already made the first move. Eyes hardened as he watched the scum before him, his hands beginning to spin quickly with his daggers positioned to slice anything along their circular path. A handful of pirates who decided to keep an eye on him rather than watching Kari were shocked to see a genuine devil fruit user in their facility. They hesitated a moment before drawing their blades, unsure what to make of the sight.
Yoizuki on the other hand wasn't about to hesitate. This wasn't only a chance to avenge all those harmed by these disgusting men, it was a chance to prove to his new captain he was of use outside of the kitchen. He kicked off the ground, charging at a group of three who were focused on him at the moment. One of them swung their sword at him only to have it batted aside by one of Yoizuki's pinwheels, the force of his spinning blades easily overpowering the simple downward swing. In response he moved the same hand used to parry the blow forward, shredding the man's sword arm. Now with one arm and in too much pain to do much else but scream, the bounty hunter lifted a leg and delivered a swift kick to the man's chest, knocking him to the ground so he could writhe in pain without getting in his way. Hopefully he would die of blood loss before the battle was over.

[attr="class","yes"]This was it. This was what he had been dreaming of for five long years. He sat in a chair in the bunk room, long legs forced to bend upwards as his feet were placed flat against the ground. His head was turned to the side, eyes wide as he stared through the porthole. The whites of his eyes were bloodshot and his cheeks moist, the anticipation of the road ahead robbing him of his sleep. Instead of sleeping he sat quietly in his chair, almost motionless aside from occasional twitch or quiet sob. Normally he would snap to attention when Kari woke up, using that as a signal that it was time to start the day. But as they drew nearer to there destination he decided it would be good to try and get just a bit of sleep before they reached land. Instead he found himself back in his chair, still unable to believe the fact that he was now closer than ever before.
He could feel the ship pull into port, the familiar maneuvering signaling him that it was time to get to work. Hands pressed against his eyes, attempting to rub away the redness and wipe away the tears. With a deep breath he rose to his feet, slowly gathering himself as he made his way to the deck of the ship. By the time he reached the outside he was far more composed, a weak smile on his face as he watched Kari excitedly kicked off the gangplank and walked down to the dock. She really was adorable when she got excited like this. He followed a ways behind her, his outfit far less interesting than his captain's. As usual he wore a white shirt, today with long sleeves, a pair of denim pants and simple sneakers. Four daggers hung from his belt, each set of daggers having drastically different handles and pommels. Simply holding the handle of one was enough for him to tell which knife was in hand, which was enough to prevent confusion.
He glanced towards the two men who tied the ship off, giving them a meek wave and nod of appreciation as he passed by. He would do the same for anyone he made eye contact with as they made their way towards the island. Kari's sudden shout caused Yoizuki to flinch, instinctively taking a step back. Was he supposed to have such an introduction? No. No surely not. She was the captain, he was simply a crewman. She was the one who deserved the attention. He was simply there to support her. Smile returned to his face as he once again regained his composure, clapping his hands in praise of her grand entrance.
The sound of another loud greeting caught his attention. While still clapping he turned his head to the side, catching sight of the fishman. Claps stopped abruptly, eyes wide with disbelief. That man's teeth, his hands...He was like some sort of fish. Was it a fish? He had to know more.

[attr="class","yes"]What he saw when he looked over to his captain sent a shiver down his spine. While the look she gave him instilled fear, he felt as if he deserved it. He was just so excited about the mission that he forgot he was supposed to make rice balls for breakfast. He was going to have to find a way to make it up to her after they were done here.
The sound of the door opening demanded his immediate attention, quickly drawing his second dagger in anticipation for their next movement. He followed close behind her, holding his blades up as he was poised to strike any pirate in their path. Though Kari seemed to have it covered, dispatching those in their way before he had a chance to strike. Once inside the warehouse he slipped to the side he knew that the stealth portion of the mission was about to come to an end. With those guards dead and their bodies in the open it was only a matter of time before someone sounded the alarm. Tightening his grip on his daggers he took a defensive stance, just waiting for things to kick off. While he was never fond of conflict, there was something exciting about crossing blades with pirates. They deserved whatever happened to them here, and it would be his privilege to deliver.

[attr="class","yes"]Yoizuki had a bit more trouble staying out of sight, scrunching long body up the best he could to stay hidden beside Kari. This being his first mission with his new captain lead to a mixture of emotions. He was nervous about his own performance, worrying that he would be unable to meet her expectations. At the same time it was just so exciting! He finally had a partner, a friend to travel alongside. Being alone wasn't suiting him well at all, so it was a relief to finally have the company. And she seemed like such a sweet thing. Unlike the girl, his clothing was the same as always. A plain white shirt, jeans and sneakers, a rather dull and boring affair. Seeing her all geared up for the mission was almost enough to make him rethink his attire. But he wasn't quite sure how comfortable he would be in such an outfit.
Eyes widened as she suddenly sprung into action, moving from one barrel to another without drawing any attention to herself. Peeking around the side of his hiding place he watched her curiously, unsure whether or not he should follow or start forging his own path forward. Did she want him to silently follow and serve as backup? Or maybe he should split off so they could strike from multiple angles. Oh the options! He flinched as he watched her incapacitate the guard, only to be pleasantly surprised that she subdued him without alerting his comrades. He smiled widely and nodded to her, clearly impressed by her display. She certainly wasn't going to be needing him as backup.
Peeking around the opposite side as where Kari jumped out, searched for someplace he could relocate to. After making sure the coast was clear he quickly slipped behind a stack of crates, managing to reach his new location without drawing any attention. With a deep breath he drew his dagger, holding up his new piece of equipment for one last examination. Such an interesting design. He found himself somewhat eager to try them out, slowly looking around the corner hoping to see a filthy pirate to test his blade on. Alas there was no one heading his way, much to his dismay. His attention then turned to his captain, crouching to her eye level as he waited for her to make a move. This was her operation, so the best he could do was follow her lead for now.

[attr="class","yes"]Yoizuki let out an uneasy laugh, shaking his head quickly. Eyes moved between the treeline and the bandit, grip on the pistol tightening as he spoke. He even went so far as to plead for his life, despite being assured that whatever he was afraid of was sugar water. The muscles in his face twitched as he watched the bandit, slowly and quietly approaching him from the side as he was distracted with Oz. This man made his stomach turn. So afraid of death, despite having brought it to countless innocents. He attempted to murder them for trying to protect these innocent people, even calling for other to assist in his massacre. Head shook slowly as his grip on the pistol tightened. A roar of rage and the sound of a gunshot erupted simultaneously, the barrel of the gun being brought to the man's head as the trigger was pulled. Before the either of them knew what happened, Yoizuki was standing over the body of a dead bandit. Hand released the pistol allowing it to drop to the ground beside him, the bounty hunter taking a few deep breaths as he watched the body with tired eyes. "Yes...There. This is good. He would have helped them. It had to be done." He mumbled to himself, bobbing his head slowly in agreement.
After a moment of re-centering himself he turned to Oz, smiling warmly. "Yes! Yes the fish! Please, help yourself. They will be here soon so it would be best if you were in top shape!" The rage from before seemed to vanish entirely, the fisherman excitedly making his way over to the box and opening it up. Reaching in he pulled out a few trays, each one filled with still warm lemon pepper fish fillets. The aroma unleashed from the box upon being open was strong and savory, each of the herbs and seasonings being carried along with the smell. Any good chef could tell this food was well prepared and of high quality. "Unfortunately I didn't have all of the herbs and seasonings I would usually use...but it should still be good. Come, quickly! If you wish to eat do it before they arrive. I will see if I can spot them."
Nodding to his new allies Yoizuki lay himself down on his stomach, holding his head up so as not to bury it in the ground. Holding his arms up above him and bending his legs at a ninety degree angle, he would cause his hands and feet to rotate at extreme speeds. They functioned like propellers, causing him to slowly lift off the ground and ascend into the sky, slowly gaining speed as he rose. As he rose he got a view of the surrounding area, even getting a peek into the forests. It wasn't hard to spot their camp from this new angle,a hastily put together settlement. The bandits hadn't left yet, still preparing themselves to ride out. "They are still preparing for battle! You should have time to eat quickly before they arrive!" Said the helicopter man.

[attr="class","yes"]He flinched as she reached out to him, only to be pleasantly surprised that she only aimed to play with his bush of hair a bit. Shoulders relaxed as he let out a slow breath, a fond smile on his face. A wave of nostalgia overtook him, memories of his daughter overtaking him. His daughter always loved to play with his hair whenever she could, his considerable height keeping it out of the reach most of the time. So whenever she found it within reach she would bury her hands in it, no matter how inconvenient it may be for her father. He missed this feeling. At that moment he wanted nothing more than to let go and sink into his memories, simply abandoning reality even if for just a moment. Unfortunately, reality didn't agree.
Eyes widened as his new captain spoke once more, yet again jumping in his seat. Now that he was under someone's employ he was going to have to try not to space out so much. He nodded quickly in response, rising to his feet and holding his arms against his side. "Yes Ma'am. I-if you don't mind, I'd like to take some time to explore the ship. And...some sleep would be nice. If I could just sleep for a moment before we arrive I would appreciate it. Besides I would like for the stew to set for a while longer so don't worry about that. In fact, if we let it set and draw out all the flavors we could have it with our riceballs tomorrow! The deep savory flavor of the fish broth should go well with the saltiness of the rice balls. In fact it may taste good to actually dip the riceballs into the broth...Oh that's a good idea. I'll have to try that. Would you like that, Captain?" He smiled once again, his voice somewhat shaky. Between all the changes he was encountering and that sudden flashback he was going to need to process all this. Hopefully he wouldn't regret this once he stopped to think about it.

[attr="class","yes"]The sudden gleam of metal in her hair caught his attention, only deepening his curiosity. Kari seemed to be very experienced in using her hair. She must have had very strong roots. A hand subconsciously reached up to ruffle his own nest of hair, imagining the discomfort of having something as heavy as kunai constantly hanging from his hair. It was actually rather impressive she pulled it off so effortlessly, in it's own odd way.
Oh she was speaking to him! He should respond. "I see. Yes yes this makes sense. You will help me develop my own style. I appreciate that. I look forward to learning from you, Ms. Val." He paused, eyes glancing up to the sky as a finger moved to tap his chin. "Ms. Val? Captain? Captain Val? Captain Kari? Master? Teacher? Ma'am?" He sorted through the different names he could use for the woman before him, not sure what would be the most appropriate term. He wanted to be respectful, but weren't they also partners? Should he be formal? Should he be in total subjection? Should he be more familiar? Oh this was going to be difficult.
He jumped yet again, her demands for breakfast catching him off guard. "R-rice balls?" Shoulders drooped as he looked down at the butchered fish before him, frowning slightly at it. "I can do rice balls. Though they were never my most popular dish..." This was always an embarrassing part of his work. "I-I should explain. I am a chef. But my experience is mostly in...fish. Not that I c-can't cook other things! I understand flavors. I am still a good cook. At least I think I am. But, well. All of my best dishes are fish related. I apologize in advance if my other dishes don't meet your standards." People always expected the same quality from all of his dishes as his seafood. It was never easy to explain his limited scope of experience. He could only hope this didn't damage her opinion of him.

[attr="class","yes"]Lips pursed as she poke, her response raising more questions than it provided answers. So she was also a bounty hunter, of course. That much he understood. But an heiress to a ninja clan? He had never heard of such a thing. Did this make her royalty? Should he be treating her as such? He jumped in his seat as she suddenly pointed at him, her confidence appearing to waver slightly as she spoke. Did he strike a nerve perhaps? Again more questions started to pop up in his head, wrists moving to rest on his knees as he leaned forward. "I have...many questions. But first, I apologize if I prompted you to speak of your past. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable! I take full responsibility of course. Whatever that means..." Fingers tapped on his leg as he continued to consider his situation. So she wasn't just kidnapping him. She was recruiting him. And apparently training him. In Yoizuki style ninjitsu? Huh.
"So...You want to hire me. And train me? In Yoizuki style ninjitsu? I wasn't aware that such a thing existed! But I suppose you would know better. B-but I won't ask about that! As much as I would like to I will not question your past any more." There was one part that caught his attention more than anything else, however. "So if I accept your offer, you will take me to the grand line? That's..." It was too good to be true. A crew. A team that was to travel to the grand line. Hands curled into fists as he took a deep breath, the anticipation of reaching his destination putting him on the verge of tears. After taking a moment to blink the moisture away from his eyes he turned his gaze back to the young woman with a fond smile. "I accept. Ms. Val, it would be an honor to travel with you and your crew." He bowed his head to her before placing his hands back on the table, smile growing slightly as he continued to visualize their arrival into the grand line. He wasn't sure what he had gotten himself into, but if it would take him to his destination then it would be worth whatever consequences come with it.

Opening the oven was always a special treat for a chef. The feeling the sudden burst of heat on their face and the aroma it carried with it was simply satisfying. Pulling out the whole fish with a wrapped hand, he set the pan on the stove, nodding slowly to himself. The savory smell of tried herbs was stronger than ever, the various seasonings melding together into a single sensation. With an excited smile on his face, he gathered up the serving utensils and brought the piping hot dish back to the table. This time it was a rather large fish encrusted with various herbs. After watching Kari for a moment to capture her reaction, he got to work carving it into proper servings. After removing the fins and tail and separating the the head he cut out a section of the belly fillet and set it on her plate. The speed at which he carved suggested vast amounts of experience in the area, the whole thing taking mere moments.
Legs were forced to bend, knees pointing upwards as the seven foot tall man set himself down in the chair. "The stew is going to be a bit longer. Should give us time to talk." He seemed much calmer about the whole situation now, even giving the girl a much more comfortable smile. "So!"He clapped his hands together and gestured to the meal before him, excitement returning once more. "This is an herb roasted whole snapper! This one is definitely fully matured. Again I don't know the name, but it had an oddly large number of teeth...It had purple scales, though the flesh underneath was a dully grey. Regardless of color, it's still very flavorful! Should be much better than the previous course. I shouldn't have attempted that dish without the proper ingredients. But this! This I had everything I needed. I think you will appreciate it."
Fingers meshed together as he rested his hands on the table, watching Kari with an expectant smile. It was then that a sudden realization struck. "Oh dear! I'm sorry I never introduced myself! My name is Yoizuki Ryoshi. I used to be a chef on Karate Island. Now I...well." His expression weakened, the confidence from his food fading as he shrugged. "Now I'm a bounty hunter. Granted it hasn't been long...Only a few small bounties to make ends meet." It was so odd hearing himself speak that way. Still, she needed to know.

He nodded along as she spoke, slowly pairing the answers to his questions. So he was expected to fight at a certain point...And she was a bounty hunter. As odd as the situation was, this was actually quite an interesting idea. He wasn't very experienced as a bounty hunter, so having a partner would be useful. He could only assume she intended for him to stick around for a bit with that 'eventually' of hers. A quick glance over his shoulder to the rest of the ship helped make a bit more sense of things. The ship was designed for training. Was she planning on turning him into a bounty hunter, assuming he wasn't one already? It must have been his devil fruit. The more things started to make sense the more relaxed he became, head bobbing slowly as he put things together. "I see. I see I see." He was also going to have to make sure to be more careful when selecting those Morse Tuna. Such a sad waste killing that poor fish before it reached it's ideal flavor. Still, it was a good learning experience. Hopefully the rest of his fish would fair better.
Eyes widened as the smell of smoke reached his nose, Kari's words confirming his fears. "Oh no! Nonono!" Long legs kicked off the ground and over the railing, leaping over and dodging around any obstacles as he made a beeline for the kitchen. He entered the room to see it filled with smoke, the fish left on the pan having been badly burned. Without missing a beat Yoizuki extended his arms forward, his hands converting into propellers. They spun quickly enough to blow away the smoke, clearing a path of clean air to the stove so he could turn it off. Once that was done he continued to blow away the smoke until the room had nothing but breathable air. Fortunately the roast in the oven was still in good shape, though if he had spent much more time away from the kitchen it was bound to end up like it's friend. "The roast is fine! No damage to your ship! Just some burnt salmon is all! I'll be right out with the next course!" Such a waste. But at least he didn't cause any damage to her ship. Though he may have to buy her a new skillet after this...

He perked up considerably as she described the fish to him. He smiled broadly, nodding quickly as she spoke. "Ah! Yes, yes I see! I did find the patterns on the scale to be rather odd! Though the one I caught wasn't too large. Perhaps it was still young..." He pondered over the fish as he watched her eat, smile softening as she enjoyed the meal. It was so nice seeing a young woman enjoy his meals. It brought back such fond memories... With another heavy sigh he put the shot glass to his lips and gulped down it's contents. Shoulders relaxed as the intense flavor filled his mouth and coated the back of his throat. Such a wonderful sauce, even on it's own. After a moment of enjoyment, he turned his gaze to one of the daggers at his side.
"Ah...Good enough, I suppose. I'm actually trained in unarmed combat. But I've adapted those techniques for use with knives. Or daggers. Or whatever short blade, I suppose. Though I prefer my blades to be double edged. With a sharp point. But not too thin as to break if used to parry. A nice thick blade is best. So long as it's still light weight, of course. At a certain point you're just waving around cleavers and that's not..." Lips pursed as he turned back to the girl, head tilting as he watched her man the helm. "So, you want me to fight? What are you hunting? Are you a bounty hunter? What made you think I could fight? Are you really alone on this ship? How was the sashimi?" Oddly enough, the final question was the one he was most curious of. Preparing a new type of fish had so many variables in play. He wanted to know that he was handling it properly. And if she was so well versed in this particular fish she would be the perfect person to ask!

Yoizuki let out an uneasy laugh, shaking his head quickly. "Oh no no you misunderstand. It's already prepared! Unfortunately I didn't have much variety in my seasonings. So it's all just lemon pepper. But I think it came out very well! I hope you e-"The sound of the conch shell being blown stopped him in his tracks, eyes widening as he turned to face the source of the sound. What was that? What was that about? Why did he do that? Was he calling more bounty hunters? Or...Was he one of the bandits? His question was answered as he started to run and pulled out a GUN!? WHAT!? The bounty hunter immediately hit the deck, flinching with the sound of each gunshot. Looking up from the dirt, he saw nothing but a cloud of dust. But once that cleared, he could clearly see the man he assumed to be a civilian injecting the bandit with something? Scrambling to his feet Yoizuki rushed over to the two, drawing one of his knives as he approached them.
"What's happening? Who are you? What did you do? Who is this man? Are you a bandit? Where's Penny!?" His mind and mouth were going a mile a minute, tone growing more intense as he rambled on. Teeth clenched in frustration as he looked at the bandit, eyes suddenly moving to the gun in his hand. Without another word he rose his knife and drove it into the man's hand. The bandit let out a cry of pain and dropped his weapon, allowing Yoizuki to pick it up and examine it for a moment. "Shooting at us. Blowing your horn. Did you call them? Or did you tell them to hide? Oh you're going to have a lot of explaining to do sir." After ensuring the gun was loaded he stepped around the man, looking up into the hills with narrowed eyes. The man already had a knife to his throat and seemed more than willing to speak. With that man subdued he focused on the surroundings, watching cautiously for any signs of bandits in wait.

Oh don't mind me. I'll try not to get in your way... Would you like some fish?

Shoulders drooped as she explained the situation to him, the flare in his eyes fading and his lips curving into a frown. This was really going to put a damper onto the meal. Realistically, he could have simply flown back to the island and gotten on with his life. But it was true. He did owe her. And he didn't want to leave her meal unfinished. And so much fish! He couldn't leave all that fish behind. With a defeated sigh he made his way to the helm, once excited movements now weighed down by defeat. He couldn't help but ponder her curious words. His talents? Did she mean cooking? Did she need a chef for this hunt of hers? Maybe she needed someone to make particularly tasty bait? Unless...she was a bounty hunter? Did she know he was one as well? A hand absentmindedly moved to the hilt of the dagger hanging from his left hip. Perhaps he needed to find someplace to hid his weaponry so he wasn't so obvious. It wasn't as if she could have heard of him. Oh dear. She saw his devil fruit powers. That must have been it. He really should be more careful about those things...
He stood in the near the table for a moment, watching her silently as he tried to think of proper words. "I-I suppose I will be of any assistance I can. I do owe you, after all. Especially after you were so kind as to let me use your kitchen." He forced a painfully weak smile onto his face as he set the sashimi on the table, taking a step back and letting his arms hang at his sides. "There you are. Sesame and soy sauce...tuna. I-I don't know the actual name of the fish. I should really look into it. It's not toxic or anything! I saw someone selling them in the market. It was...speckled. Most definitely a tuna of some sort. With green fins and very large eyes. Ah, but you'll be seeing those yourself soon enough." He relaxed a bit as he spoke of the fish, his smile slowly turning a bit more genuine. "Please, enjoy. I'm sure the ship can manage on it's own while you have a quick meal." Raising his shot glass of soy sauce to his face he took a deep breath through his nose, inhaling the pungent aroma. Oh how he loved soy sauce. Such a wonderful treat...
